Around 3 pm on July 19, it started to rain. It continued all night.

　　On July 20, I had to avoid the puddles(水坑) on my way to work. The rain was getting heavier. Someone joked that Zhengzhou was becoming the new Venice.

　　At noon water almost reached half the way up car wheels.In the afternoon.I grew more anxious (焦慮的）as I didn't know how to get home. When the clock turned 5 pm, I received videos of people swimming across a road-turned river. I didn't know what to do. At 5:30 pm.I was about to head home when my neighbor told me that at the front gate of my apartment,the water had already reached a depth(深度）of 1.2 meters. I told my parents I would stay in the office for the night.My father said that somewhere water had already risen up to people's waists.

　　So I stayed put,without the idea as to when and how this would all end. We all refused the boss's offer to go to hotel because we knew someone else might need a hotel room more. People were posting“Come on, Zhengzhou"on social media. Perhaps,through encouraging others,people can find a bit of relief for themselves.Friends outside of Henan told me to look after myself.

　　On July 21, when I was back at my apartment in the evening, the elevator inside the building was out of service.But water and electricity were still up and running.
